"The day was very well attended with over 50 dogs entered, competitors coming from as far a field as Somerset
Our judges for the event where:
|
Puppy: Mrs Chris Guest
Novice: Mr Rob Brown |
Graduate: Mr Paul Gardiner
Open: Mrs Di Arrowsmith (2167) | The weather was very kind to us with warm sun but a nice breeze to keep the dogs and handlers cool
The ground at watergrove is very good to run working tests on as it is quite undulating with white tussocky grass every where,
We had the scare that with foot and mouth scare just being released on the TV. That the land owners might ask us to call it off , but luckily not ,so we put a foot bath before the competitors got on the moor, and all gladly agreed to dip their feet before going on the tests.
All the tests finished by 4pm we had our presentation, with each judge saying a few words , it was wonderful to see our lovely breed being place in three out of the four groups , competitors getting first to third received a bag of dog food from our sponsors BETA , and a trophy
I would like to thank a few people, all the stewards and dummy throwers, the two wonderful girls on the registration tent sue Kania and Sharon Potter also Anne Burns for putting on the lunches for the judges, and all the judges and competitors, the land owners and tenant farmer for allowing us to run the tests on the ground, our sponsors Beta, but last but not least I must thank my wonderful wife Wendy, for putting up with me and helping me throughout it all
All the points and runners are here for you to see.
Hopefully we will see more wires entered next year (so you have a year to practise)"

"Just a big thank you to Mark and all his helpers for putting on a fantastic working test, everyone we spoke to said how much they had enjoyed it, we competitors do tend to take these things for granted just enter and thats it, but we would like you to know we do realise what hard work it is putting on an event like this and are very grateful once again well done"

"This was our first experience of a working test entering our nine month old wirehaired viszla, Zak. We thought the organisation was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the day. We achieved mid table mediocrity in the puppy class but as an initial attempt we were very pleased and will continue to persevere with our training. Thanks for all the support and encouragement from all who attended especially Chris and Peter Guest."
