Working
The Wire Haired Vizsla in common with other hunt, point and retrieve breeds is a versatile, multi purpose gundog. When correctly nurtured and trained it is more than capable of fulfilling a complex range of activities. This is a breed that originates from a country (Hungary) in which sportsmen and women have a no nonsense approach to gundogs. The luxury afforded many dogs within this country are not an option, so a breed must prove its worth. The Wire Haired Vizsla does just that, and, that is why the majority of them predominantly reside within the homes of the more serious hunters.

Since its introduction to Great Britain the Wire Haired Vizsla has found favour with rough shooters, deer stalkers and falconers alike. Increasing numbers are being seen and entered into HPR gundog working tests and field trials and have taken a number of top honours.
