How points are awarded

Below is a table that explains how the points are awarded for Open and Championship Shows and working events. Rose Summerfield is the committee member responsible for collating the points. You can contact her via email on rose@hwva.org.uk. For convenience we have supplied a downloadable version of the table to help you understand how the points are calculated. Rose will always be happy to handle any queries that you might have with your points submission.

Please note the following:

The Annual Awards points year runs from 1st February to 31st January. Collated points must be submitted by 1st March.
Points submissions are only available to current fully paid up HWVA members for the year of the points submission
If a dog is jointly owned both owners must be members
Please submit your points on the official forms
Only events held under UK Kennel Club Rules and Regulations are accepted
The HWVA Open Show is awarded as a single breed Championship Show
There are no points for individual dogs in brace, progeny, breeder, affix and team classes
All points gained as a puppy can be claimed for the puppy trophies. In addition any puppy winning Best of Breed, Best Opposite Sex or any adult group placing may carry these points forward to claim for the adult trophies as well as using them towards the puppy trophies
