We are passionate about ensuring that this wonderful breed have a healthy future and we are undertaking several initiatives to ensure that this is the case.

DNA Bank
The most recent of these is the creation of a DNA Bank for the Wirehaired Vizsla. This will serve as a museum of genetic material that can be called upon in the future should there be a need to do genetic research into medical conditions. Confidential Health Survey
We have recently launched a comprehensive confidential Health Survey of the Wirehaired Vizsla in association with the Animal Health Trust and the Kennel Club. This has been circulated to members but is open to all, as we are hoping to obtain as much information as possible about as many dogs as possible.

Please note we have had an unprecedented number of enquiries from wire owners who would like to complete the survey but do not have access to a form.  The HWVA does not hold any copies. These can ONLY be obtained from the Animal Health Trust as follows:
